हाथ में सब्जी का थैला लिए जैसे ही शर्मा जी ने घर में दाखिला लिया,माथे पर आई शिकन को देखते ही श्रीमती जी ने झट से थैले को अपने हाथ में ले लिया । थैले से मुंह चिढ़ाती सब्जियां बाहर निकलने को इतना बेचैन हो रही थीं मानों शर्मा जी की परेशानी को खुद ही बयां करने वाली हों।चूहचुहाती पसीने को पोंछते हुए श्रीमती जी भी बेचैन हो गईं कि आखिर बात क्या है ?घर से तो हंसते – मुस्कुराते निकले थे ।इतनी देर में कौन – सी विपदा आन पड़ी ?वैसे मुसीबतें पूछकर नहीं आती थीं शर्मा जी के जीवन में।आएं भी क्यूं ना ?सीधी – साधी जीवन तो जीनी नहीं थी ना उन्हें ।आए दिन बदलते समाज के तेवर से हर समय शिकायत करना इनकी आदत जो बन गई थी। भईया !जीवन का फलसफा तो यही कहता है कि अगर खुश रहना है तो आंख मूंदकर जो चल रहा है ,उसे चलने दो ।पर शर्मा जी को कौन समझाए ।आदतें भी तो जोंक की तरह ही तो होती है ।एक बार सट गई तो समझो चिपक ही गई ।चिपकने से याद आया श्रीमती जी ने जाते – जाते शर्मा जी को ताकीद कर दी थी कि fevikol लेते आएगा ।कुछ टूटे हुए समान को जोड़ना था ।आज के समय में रिश्ते ना जुड़े ,पर चीज़ो को जोड़ने के लिए कंपनियां तरह – के समाधान जरूर तलाश रही हैं ।आपने देखा ही होगा कि fevicol के डिब्बे पर दो हाथियों के चित्र बने हुए हैं ,जिनके बीच में fevicol के मजबूत जोड़ की मजबूती को बखूबी उकेरा गया है ।आशय तो समझ ही गए होंगे कि “ये fevicol का मजबूत जोड़ है ,उसे हाथी भी नहीं तोड़ सकता” ।ये सोचते ही श्रीमती जी को हंसी आ गई ।बदलते परिदृश्य में घर टूट रहा है,रिश्ते टूट रहे हैं फिर इन हाथियों की क्या बिसात।खैर छोड़िए ,हमारे विज्ञापनों का तो वैसे भी कोई जवाब नहीं होता है ।ऐसी – ऐसी लुभावनी बातें पर्दे पर आती हैं ,मानों हर बुरी चीज को बदलने का ठेका इन्हीं के पास है ।

ठंडे पानी का ग्लास जैसे ही शर्मा जी ने पकड़ा और अपने हलक में उतारा ,मानों उनका गुस्सा भी वैसे ही शांत हो चला ,जैसे सरकारी कार्यालयों में टेबल के नीचे लक्ष्मी मईया को सरका कर काम झट से हो जाता है ।श्रीमती जी ने शर्मा जी को थोड़ा शांत देखा ,तब उनके दिल में भी उठते तूफ़ानों को पड़ाव मिल गया ।
दोपहर के 2:00 बज रहे थे सोचा खाना निकालूं। शर्मा जी को खुश करने की एक और बात जेहन में आ गई थी । भारतीय नारियां भी कितनी जद्दोजहद करती हैं अपने पति को खुश करने के लिए ।खाना टेबल पर सज गया था। तभी कानों में पुराने फिल्मों की धुन सुनाई पड़ी ।शर्माजी तो मानो खुशी के मारे उछलने लगे ।इतनी खुशी तो अमेरिका को भी नहीं हुई होगी हिरोशिमा और नागासाकी पर बम फेंकते हुए। अब जाकर श्रीमती जी को समझ में आया कि बात कहां लगी थी थोड़ा कुरेदने पर शर्मा जी तो फट पड़े ।चिलचिलाती धूप में सब्जी का थैला लिए जैसे ही उनके कानों में पुराने गानों की चाशनी में नए गानों की तान कानों में गई , मानो गर्म सीसा पिघला कर डाल दिया गया हो ।उसी समय उनका गुस्सा सातवें आसमान पर पहुंच गया था,उतनी तेजी तो गिद्ध भी नहीं दिखाता अपने शिकार को पकड़ने में।
तभी तो वे भिनभिनाते घर के अंदर घुसे थे। इन दिनों पुराने गानों के अधिकार को लेकर उन्हें नई आवाज,अंदाज और नाज के साथ रिमिक्स किया जा रहा है ।हमारे जमाने के जो स्वर्णिम गाने हैं ,उन्हें आज के कानफोड़ू संगीत में बदलकर परोसा जा रहा है ।बस यही बात उन्हें नागवार गुजरी थी ।उनका कहना था कि तेज धुन , अंग्रेजी बोल और आज की आवाज शामिल कर पुराने गानों को नया रंग देना कहां तक लाजमी है ।
वे यह बात सुनकर तो और बौखला जाते हैं कि रिमिक्स से जुड़े गीतकार, संगीतकार और गायक इस बात की दुहाई देते रहते हैं कि आज की पीढ़ी को classic गानों से परिचित करवा रहे हैं ।ये तो वही बात हुई कि पुराने शराब को नए जाम का रूप देकर महफ़िल में नशा उतारा जा रहा है।
अरे भाई !जरूरी है आधुनिकता के नाम पर पुरानी चीजों को नए रूप में ढालना ।अब जाकर श्रीमती जी को चैन में चैन आया कि आग कैसे लगी थी और धुआं क्यूं उठ रहा था। बिलबिलाती हुई शर्मा जी पर बरस पड़ी कि सारे समाज को बदलने का ठेका आपने ही तो लिया है। जब यही बात थी तो इतनी भूमिका बांधने की कोई जरूरत ही नहीं थी । सीधे मुद्दे पर आना चाहिए था ।लग रहा था कि चुनावी घोषणा के समय की राजनीतिक पार्टियों का रंग उन पर भी चढ़ गया था। Vote खींचने के लिए पहले तो खूब भूमिका बांधों और जब मतलब सध जाए तो मुद्दे पर आ जाओ। श्रीमती जी की डांट ने असर दिखाया और निचोड़े हुए नींबू की तरह कुर्सी पर बैठ गए खाना खाने। कम से कम थाली में सब्जियों की मात्रा देखकर महंगाई जैसी समस्या पर उनकी सोच की घड़ी नहीं टिक पाई।वरना देश की बागडोर अभी इसी वक़्त श्रीमती जी उनके हाथों में जरूर दे देती ।बस पुराने हिंदी गानों का मजा लीजिए और खाना खाए बिना किसी चिंता के,क्योंकि चिंता और चिता में बस एक बिंदु का ही फर्क होता है ।
इतनी बातें सुनाने के बाद श्रीमती जी के अधरो पर विजय की मुस्कान खिल गई ,मानों पतझड़ में भी वसंत दिखने लगा हो ।या यों समझ लीजिए कि शर्मा जी को उनकी आदत पर खरी – खोटी सुनाकर मानों कुरुक्षेत्र की लड़ाई की जीत पांडवों के बदले उन्ही को मिल गई हो।
